Teaching Philosophy

I believe the most powerful resource that I can bring to the classroom is my genuine self; a caring and empathetic presence that is deeply committed to my students' highest educational good. I believe the classroom to be an extension of the Church; a community in which God is glorified through the full and plenary development of our gifts and abilities, through our practice and intellect.

Background

For the past 10 years I have served my community as a clinical supervisor, counsellor, and occasional lecturer, specializing in the integration of psychology and theology. My professional development has included training in Emotionally Focused Couples' Therapy, EMDR, Internal Family Systems Therapy, OEI, and Satir Systemic Therapy. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Theology, focusing on the integration of Dietrich Bonhoeffer's Christian humanism and counselling psychology.
